2024 edition of Cannes Lions to take place from June 17–21

The 71st Edition of The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is scheduled for June 17–21, 2024, in Cannes, France. A new initiative emphasizes supporting underserved and underrepresented communities, offering complimentary passes to organizations, especially prioritizing not-for-profit, diverse-owned entities, and registered charities. The complimentary passes, totaling €1 million, will be distributed based on an eligibility scoring system.

Frank Starling, Chief DEI Officer at LIONS, stated, "This is about driving equity and increasing accessibility so that everyone in the global creative community has the opportunity to attend and benefit from the progress-driving possibilities that Cannes Lions brings on both a personal and business level." Applications for the initiative will open in December.

In 2024, other pass options include a Start-Up Pass for individuals and small businesses and a new Connector Pass focused on networking. Simon Cook, CEO of LIONS, highlighted the commitment to providing greater access to Cannes Lions, addressing the diverse needs of the global community.

Cannes Lions has opened its annual Call for Content, accepting proposals until January 5, 2024. Jenni Middleton, Editor in Chief & SVP Content at LIONS, emphasized the open call for content to provide a global platform for diverse voices.

The content portal allows applications for speaking on the stage, with the agenda building on the 'Creative impact' content stream from 2023. It aims to offer the business case for creativity, ensuring the global community has the evidence and tools needed to connect marketing and creative departments to the boardroom.

The LIONS Scholarship continues in the next year, supporting the next talent generation by offering 10 young people worldwide a fully funded place in the Cannes Lions Creative Academies and Brand Marketers during the June Festival. Kateryna Kononenko, a 2023 scholarship program member, described the Academy as intense, emotional, unimaginably insightful, and inspiring, stating it elevated her as a brand marketer.
