29 New Agencies on DAVP panel!

From past six decades and now, The Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP) is the primary multi-media advertising agency of the central government and is responsible for screening of all the ads for Central Government and its departments providing them a single window cost effective services. Recently, DAVP has included 29 creative multimedia agencies in its panel.

The inclusion in DAVP's panel gives these agencies an upper hand in terms with others as they would start getting default notifications and alerts to make a bid for all government businesses that comes across. If at all last year's i.e. 2008-09 total expenditure by various government departments is taken into consideration, these agencies would be eyeing on a business of worth Rs 468.12 crore. The expenditure on all print and electronic advertisements by DAVP for the current year till July month end has already crossed Rs 60.3 crore.

However, the distribution of the scale and type of campaigns assigned to these agencies depends on the group they fall into. Basis the annual turnover of the agencies, they are put into three groups classifying them from Group A to Group C.

Group A includes agencies having a turnover of Rs 100 crore. It includes - Concept Communications, Span Communication, Percept/H, Dentsu, Crayons and Lowe Lintas.

Group B attracts agencies with a turnover in the range of 50-100 crore and Rediffusion DYR is the only agency that could qualify this criteria.

Agencies with a turnover in the range of Rs 25-30 crore fall under Group C. The agencies in this particular category include - Brand Curry Communications, Pamm Advertising & Marketing, Impact Advertising, Corporate Media Men Advertising, Centum Advertising & Marketing, Goldmine Advertising, Falcon Advertisers, Snappers Advertising & Marketing, Promodome Communications, Interads Advertising, Adknack Advertising, Nirman Advertising, Garuda Advertising, Associated Advertising, Mercantile Advertising, Sharad Advertising, Mode Advertising & Marketing, Prime Time Communications, Akshara Advertising, Indus Adcom Ltd, Moulis Advertising Service and BEI Confluence Communication.
