Aaj Tak, ABP News lead in audience reach among top linear networks
In a recent analysis of top linear networks by Samsung Ads India, Aaj Tak, ABP News, and NDTV India emerged as the leading TV channels in terms of audience reach and engagement. The data, comparing performance metrics between a client campaign and the Samsung Universe, highlights how news channels dominate viewership.
According to the data, Aaj Tak secured the highest audience reach at 30%, followed by ABP News (17%) and NDTV India (10%). In terms of engagement, Aaj Tak also recorded the highest time spent per TV per day at 8.05 minutes, with a reach index of 263.5—significantly higher than other networks.
Among entertainment channels, Colors HD showed strong engagement, with an average viewing time of 13.23 minutes per day, though its reach remained at 1%. History TV18 also performed well, with a reach index of 282.9 and a time spent index of 440.09.
The comparison with Samsung Universe data reveals uniform reach and time spent indices (100) across all listed channels, indicating a stable viewing pattern among Samsung users.
The findings reinforce the dominance of news channels in TV consumption trends, suggesting that advertisers and brands should prioritize these networks for maximum audience engagement.
