Adesh Kumar Gupta to step down as a Director of ZEEL

Adesh Kumar Gupta has decided not to continue as a Director of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited after the upcoming annual general meeting of the company. Consequent to this, he will also cease to be a Member of Audit Committee, and Chairman of Risk Management Committee and Stakeholders Relationship Committee of the Board after the AGM.

In a letter to the Board of Directors of ZEEL, Gupta cited “personal reasons and commitment” as the reason for his decision and added, “I will not be able to continue as the Director of the company after the ensuing Annual General Meeting.”

He further wrote, “I wish a great success to the company and hope the pending merger with Sony will be completed at the earliest.”

Gupta, a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary and AMP from Harvard, is a professional with rich experience of over 40 years in Corporate Strategy, M&A, Business restructuring, Fund raising, Taxation, etc. During his career of over three decades in Aditya Birla Group, he had held various senior positions (including Board positions) in companies in various fields, including Indian Rayon, Birla Global Finance, Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd and Grasim Industries Ltd. Post his retirement as Whole-Time Director & CFO of Grasim Industries Ltd, Gupta has been working as insolvency professional and currently service on various company boards, including Care Ratings Ltd, Vinati Organics Ltd.
