Advertising Club Trivandrum launched, Paving way for creative collaboration

Trivandrum witnessed a landmark moment for the advertising and  media fraternity with the grand launch of Advertising Club Trivandrum (ACT) on Valentine’s Day,  celebrated under the theme ‘For the Love of Advertising.’ The event, held at Hyatt Regency  Trivandrum, brought together industry stalwarts, ad professionals, media professionals, and brand  owners, marking the beginning of a vibrant platform for creative collaboration and knowledge  sharing. 

The official launch was done by renowned filmmaker and ad legend R. Balki, in the presence of  Prathap Suthan, one of India’s most celebrated advertising minds. The event featured a series of  insightful sessions and discussions, exploring the evolving landscape of advertising and media. A key highlight was the engaging session featuring R. Balki in conversation with Hari Krishnan of Tilt  Brand Solutions. The discussion provided a deep dive into some of Balki’s most impactful  campaigns, offering rare insights into his creative process. Speaking at the event, Balki remarked,  “Trivandrum and Kerala could be a powerhouse for Indian advertising with the kind of content being  produced in films and in other creative fields.” 

Another standout session was delivered by Prathap Suthan, who took the audience through his  inspiring journey from Trivandrum to becoming a stalwart in Indian advertising, offering  perspectives on creativity, leadership, and brand storytelling. 

The event also hosted an insightful panel discussion on ‘Regional Advertising in the Digital Era’,  featuring industry veterans Varghese Chandy (Malayala Manorama), Kamal Krishnan (Times of  India), Anil Ayroor (Zee Keralam), and Naveen Srinivasan (Mathrubhumi). The panel explored the  evolving role of regional markets in the digital age and the increasing significance of hyperlocal  content.

Adding to the grandeur of the occasion, the launch event featured special video messages from  advertising legend Piyush Pandey and Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor, who extended their  best wishes and emphasized the importance of fostering creativity and innovation in advertising. 

Delivering the presidential address, Laj Salam, President of Advertising Club Trivandrum, spoke  about the journey of forming the club and its vision to create a thriving ecosystem for advertising  and media professionals in the region. The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Secretary  Vishnu Vijay, who expressed gratitude to the guests, members, and supporters who made the  launch a grand success. 

With its successful launch, Advertising Club Trivandrum sets the stage for a new chapter in  Kerala’s advertising and media industry, promising a future filled with creativity, learning, and  collaboration.
