Agastaya Jain on creating timeless content with Bas Itna Sa Khwaab

Agastaya Jain, the writer, creator, and creative producer of the new TV show Bas Itna Sa Khwaab, shares his thoughts on the series, which stars the talented Rajshree Thakur and Yogendra Vikram Singh.

The show, which recently premiered, has already received positive feedback from viewers.

Agastaya is thrilled with the response so far and highlights that one of the best pieces of feedback he’s received is that the show is far from the typical hero-heroine narrative. “It’s actually what we call a family show, where each character is nuanced and has a story to tell. The characters are what people are relating to, and that makes me happy. Rest all depends on the reviews of the show; fingers crossed!” he says, reflecting on the early success.

When asked about the significance of the title Bas Itna Sa Khwaab, Agastaya explains, “It’s a story of taking that first step towards your dream and potential because the first step is always the hardest. After that, you just keep following your path. To me, the focus has always been on creating content that is timeless.”

The show's central theme resonates with the audience as it focuses on personal growth and the courage to pursue one's dreams, something Agastaya holds close to his heart.

Discussing the support he received throughout his career, Agastaya candidly shares: “Initially, except for my wife, then girlfriend, no one. But eventually, everyone. It takes time for people to believe in someone’s decision. Now I feel I am the lucky one.” His journey of perseverance in the face of challenges has made him all the more grateful for the success he’s now achieving.

Rajshree Thakur, known for her versatility, plays a pivotal role in the show. Agastaya is proud of his decision to cast her. “She is proving our decision right with every episode, and there is a lot to come. She has already proven her ability, and with this show, she will again prove that good talent is what we need in today’s time,” he shares enthusiastically.

As a creator, Agastaya acknowledges the pressure that comes with ratings and audience approval. “For any successful show, audience attention and love matter the most. There will always be pressure to prove why your show is watchable. My main job is to make the characters relatable, and I want my viewers to stay connected with the show. The more attention my characters get, I know the viewers will be curious to know more. A successful show will always have the best story, executed with a properly crafted script,” he says, emphasizing his commitment to storytelling.

Agastaya Jain’s past work includes popular projects like Meri DurgaTu Chal PudheRadha Krishna, and Qayamat Ki Raat. With Bas Itna Sa Khwaab, he continues to prove his expertise in creating engaging, relatable content that speaks to audiences’ hearts.
