'Agneepath' brings its energies to the Masterclass at Whistling Woods International

Agneepath, Agneepath, Agneepath – the lingo filled the auditorium as Director Karan Malhotra, whomarked his Bollywood debut in early 2012 with Agneepath walked into an exhilarating audience of aspiring film students at Whistling Woods International. He was accompanied by his team Cinematographer-KiranDeohans and Editor-AkivAli.

350 students in the auditorium were all eager to chat with the team of this visually arresting movie after a special screening of the same for the students on the prior day. Students threw all sorts of questions at the experts and the team keenly shared “on the job” knowledge with the students.

Karan Malhotra, Director highlighted various aspects of filmmaking and commenting on sound treatment in this film he said, “I wanted Agneepath to be dramatic and make it ‘larger than life’. I deliberately wanted to make it very filmy and loud.”

Akiv said, “I don’t believe that an editor makes or breaks a film. Its an editor’s job to cover the mistakes in shoot process if any. A film is made correctly at the editing table.”

To encapsulate the session,Karan expressed, “The session was fantastic. The kind of questions that were asked by students were very accurate and intelligent.” He advised, “Do not watch films as a filmmaker. They are meant to entertain. So, enjoy them while you are watching.”

It was a truly magical experience for the students of Whistling Woods International to meet the creative minds behind the totally rocking movie of 2012.
