Ajay Sharma joins Prasar Bharati

Ajay Sharma, with over 24 years of leadership experience in the broadcasting and media industry, has joined Prasar Bharati. Sharma began his career at The Pioneer in 2000, where he worked for three years. He then moved to The Indian Express, where he served for more than two years. From 2005 to 2007, he was with India TV, and from 2007 to 2015, he held a leadership role at ABP News. He subsequently worked at News Nation until 2018 and then served as National Head at ZEE Media Corporation for five years. Afterward, he had a brief stint with News X and the ITV Group, the parent company of India News.

Sharma is recognized for his expertise in revenue generation, strategic alliances, media relations, coordination with central government bodies, and partnerships. He will report to and work with DDG Sanjay Prasad. Prasar Bharati, under the leadership of CEO Gaurav Dwivedi, is currently in a crucial growth phase during the third term of the Modi government, with Ashwini Vaishnaw serving as the I&B Minister.
