Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina was shot in Singapore for their newest film Jigra

The highly anticipated action film Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, has fans buzzing with excitement. The duo was spotted shooting in Singapore against the backdrop of some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Set against the stunning architectural wonders and tranquil beauty of Singapore, Vasan Bala's new film masterfully blends emotional intensity with a visionary world, as the sister goes to great lengths to protect her sibling.

Alia is a frequent flyer to Singapore with Jigra being the third film in the island city after Badrinath ki Dulhania and Dear Zindagi. This project also brings her back together with Karan Johar and Dharma Productions, the team with whom she started her acting career.

We filmed some key sequences for Jigra in Singapore, as the script called for a setting that was both vibrant and culturally rich. Singapore perfectly fit that vision. The entire experience was incredibly smooth, with the people being exceptionally welcoming and hospitable. I feel Singapore offers all kinds of varied experiences to everyone. Each time I visit, I discover something new—there’s always a fresh part of the city to explore,” shares Alia in a candid video.

Alia’s on-screen sibling, co-star Vedang Raina, enjoyed the experience of working on Jigra. Reflecting on the film, he shared that one of his favourite moments was filming in Singapore alongside Alia and  director Vasan Bala. "I had an amazing time shooting in Singapore. The city is stunning, with a perfect balance of nature, activities, and incredible food, all made even better by the welcoming people.  Although I didn’t get to explore as much as I’d like during the shoot, I’m definitely coming back to experience more of this vibrant city," added Vedang.

Markus Tan, Regional Director of Singapore Tourism Board for India, the Middle East, South Asia, and  Africa (IMESA), expressed his excitement about Jigra's upcoming release, saying, "We were thrilled that Singapore was chosen as the shoot location one of Bollywood’s most anticipated films, Jigra.  Singapore is a constantly evolving, multi-faceted canvas for filmmakers, offering a diverse array of backdrops that merge the old and the new. From heritage buildings and urban skylines and lush green canopies, each project shot here speaks to Singapore’s game-changing aesthetic and cinematic appeal and we invite filmmakers to come and discover the endless possibilities Singapore offers."
