Amazon Prime speeds up deliveries in India

Amazon Prime members in India can now enjoy even faster deliveries on a wider selection of products. Prime offers free, unlimited same-day delivery on over 1 million items (10 lakh) and next-day delivery on over 4 million items (40 lakh) on Amazon.in.
This expansion comes as Amazon sets a new record for Prime delivery speeds globally, with over 5 billion items delivered same-day or next-day so far in 2024. In India, nearly half (50%) of all Prime member orders across various categories, from eyeliners to phones, are arriving next-day, same-day, or even faster.
Prime membership goes beyond fast shipping. Members enjoy exclusive deals on shopping events like Prime Day and the Great Indian Festival, access to award-winning entertainment on Prime Video, unlimited music with Amazon Music, free games with Prime Gaming, books and magazines with Prime Reading, and cashback benefits with the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card.
Amazon has significantly expanded its same-day delivery network, allowing twice as many Prime members to receive same-day deliveries compared to last year. This is achieved through a robust infrastructure that includes:
• Fulfillment centers across 15 states offering storage for millions of sellers.
• Sortation centers in 19 states working with over 1,950 delivery stations.
• A network of 28,000 third-party delivery partners to ensure nationwide coverage.
• Utilization of AI and machine learning to optimize product selection and placement for faster deliveries.
While prioritizing speed, Amazon remains committed to employee safety. Faster deliveries are achieved through optimizing infrastructure and product placement, not by compromising employee well-being.
