AMUL Extends Jayen Mehta’s Leadership for Another Five Years

Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which manages the AMUL dairy brand, has been granted a five-year extension, securing his position through 2029-2030. Having joined GCMMF in 1991, Mehta has held pivotal positions, including Brand Manager, Group Product Manager, and General Manager of Marketing. He is also actively involved in the International Dairy Federation (IDF) as a member of the Standing Committee of Marketing. Mehta initially stepped into the role of interim Managing Director in January 2023, following the departure of his predecessor, Sodhi, who had led the organization since 2010. At the time, his appointment was considered temporary while a search for a permanent replacement was underway. By April 2023, Sodhi transitioned to Reliance Retail Ventures (RRVL) to spearhead growth initiatives in the grocery sector, focusing on fruits, vegetables, and consumer brands. Meanwhile, Mehta's leadership at GCMMF was solidified with the recent extension.
