April was a dynamic mix of celebration and innovation at Sony Pictures Network India (SPNI). The SPNI Innovation Hub introduced a collection of over 4,700 NFTs at the Mumbai Comic Con event on April 20, 2024. Also in April, SPNI and Formula E entered into a new three-year media partnership to air all Formula E 10th season races live on Sony Sports Network and SonyLIV across the Indian sub-continent.

Apart from programming achievements, SPNI also won several industry accolades. The network’s Sustainability Team clinched a Gold at IAA’s Olive Crown Awards with a cool twist in ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 15’, where every wrong answer resulted in planting of 100 trees. This initiative saw the planting of 7,000 trees, lending to India’s green drive.

Other Awards spotlight during the month April included the Sony Marathi Team dazzling at the ACEF Global Customer Engagement Awards. Meanwhile, the Corporate Communications Team secured a spot in Reputation Today’s Top 30 in India for the 8th consecutive year.

Speaking on the April achievements, NP Singh, CEO, SPNI, said, “April was a dynamic mix of celebration and innovation! We marked significant milestones with Sony YAY’s 7th and Sony SAB’s 19th anniversaries, showcasing the growth and vitality of our channels. At Mumbai Comic Con, we unveiled out latest NFTs and podcasts, injecting fresh enthusiasm into our line-up. It’s worth noting that many of our teams and teammates were also externally recognised as India’s best.”

At the same time, Singh said, “Yet, let us not merely revel in our accomplishments. Our journey is defined by relentless pursuit and collaborative effort. Each team member contributes to our success, driving us forward with passion and dedication. As we navigate the path ahead, let us continue pushing boundaries, fostering creativity, and enthusiastically embracing every opportunity.”

Ecstatic about Sony YAY’s performance over its seven years, Leena Lele Dutta, Business Head, Sony YAY, exclaimed, “From a kids’ channel, we’ve transformed into a superhero of India’s entertainment landscape! We’ve created a world-class, 360-degree entertainment wonderland that’s wild and fun, making Sony YAY the ultimate destination for kids. Meanwhile, Neeraj Vyas, Business Head - Sony Entertainment Television, Sony SAB, PAL and Sony MAX Movie Cluster, raised a toast to Sony SAB completing 19 years and said, “With characters that feel like family and stories brimming with everyday charm, our shows have become a source of joy for families all across India. From heartwarming moments that make you smile to emotional scenes that tug at your heartstrings, we’ve struck a chord with our loyal viewers, leaving them laughing and crying.”

The recent Pulse Survey at SPNI saw a strong turnout of 65%, where the network’s teams offered suggestions to help shape the workplace. Springing into action in response to employee feedback, SPNI’s leadership and HR teams are enhancing transparency by ensuring everyone is well-informed and connected. The group is also ramping up its training programs to better meet individual needs.

In a move to chalk out the future roadmap for SPNI, the group recently held its Growth Initiatives Workshop that brought together 11 of its leaders from across departments. The leaders have drawn out a plan keeping in mind the market shifts and transform them into standout value propositions that propel the group’s business forward. At the workshop, the leaders identified some themes that are primed for a growth spurt.
