Aruna Irani and Jayshree T turn green with envy as Usha grooves to MUNNI

At the recent Zee Rishtey Awards 2010, guess what veteran actress Usha Nadkarni who plays the loud and brash Savita Tai on Pavitra Rishta grooved away to! Easily into her sixties, Nadkarni is probably the “youngest” item girl on the block to perform Munni Badnaam Hui with aplomb. On realizing that Usha ji is all set to rock the stage with her jhatkas to such a popular chartbuster, buzz has it that fellow veterans Aruna Irani and Jayshree T turned green with envy and demanded a change of songs to match her step for step. Not about to let Usha steal a march over her, Aruna is said to have insisted on an equally punchy ‘Dhanno’. Jayshree T, the yesteryear vamp who dazzled millions with her moves in a hundred cabaret numbers, chose not to join the rat race and opted for a more mellow ‘Tere Mast Mast Do Nain’. Perhaps a tad more suitable for her age! As if Usha’s Munni wasn’t brazen enough, the senior actress was seen gyrating to Sheela Ki Jawaani for all the news channels thronging her backstage at the awards ceremony. With Zee turning 18 this year, looks like Usha Nadkarni is feeling 18 all over again!
