Ashwini Vaishnaw unveils "Mahakumbh Hai”: A soulful ode to faith and tradition
To mark the spirit of Mahakumbh 2025, Doordarshan unveiled the theme song "Mahakumbh Hai" in a grand event in Delhi. The launch was graced by the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Railways, and Electronics & Information Technology, Sh. Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Sung by the celebrated Padma Shri awardee Kailash Kher, "Mahakumbh Hai" captures the essence of devotion, cultural heritage, and the vibrant traditions that define Mahakumbh. The powerful lyrics, crafted by Aalok Shrivastav, and the evocative music composed by Kshitij Tarey, deliver a heartfelt tribute to this iconic event. The song weaves together a blend of modern arrangements and traditional melodies, presenting a symphony that resonates with faith and festivity.
The official music video of "Mahakumbh Hai" is now accessible on Doordarshan and its digital platforms, inviting audiences to immerse themselves in the grandeur of India’s largest spiritual gathering.
Akashvani's Melodic Homage to Prayagraj Mahakumbh
In addition to this, the Union Minister also launched a special song by Akashvani, dedicated to the Prayagraj Mahakumbh. This unique musical offering reflects the spiritual and cultural importance of the Mahakumbh, held at the sacred Triveni Sangam.

The Akashvani composition, voiced by the soulful Ratan Prasanna, features music by Santosh Nahar and Ratan Prasanna, with deeply inspiring lyrics penned by Abhinay Shrivastava.
