Commenting on this trend of online auto-related searches in the industry, Sumit Chatterjee, Head - autojunction said, “Initially the business model for autojunction was e-selling of automobiles online for which we had a tie up with Reva and Yo Bikes. This was a successful model in the western e-commerce sector and we felt that this would catch up in India soon. However, with time we identified that Indian consumers preferred information and expert opinions online before making such high value purchase offline. This emerging trend prompted us to modify our approach to reach our target customers. Thus we made our portal more knowledge driven. Today our entire focus is on providing rich content on different brands of automobiles to our consumers, helping car buyers make well-informed choices. We are evolving an interactive User Generated Content model. But our services are not just objective research, we value add through personalized advice section - Ask an Expert which gets around 200 queries per month. These queries are personally answered by our in-house expert, Mr. Harmaan Raj Madon. Autojunction also provide help to users with other tools and guides viz. Affordability Calculator, Suggest Me a Car etc. We also generate multiple lead referrals for various car manufacturers, which are authenticated by the in-house CRM team.
