BAE Systems India picks Indu Anand as new Head of Communications
Indu, who reports jointly to Andrew Gallagher, Chief Executive and Managing Director, BAE Systems India and John Neilson, Director of Communications, International, BAE Systems, will join the Company's India Management Board. She assumes responsibility for developing awareness of the global defence and security company's business activities in India which are based largely on mutually beneficial partnerships.
Commenting on the appointment, Andrew Gallagher, said, "Effective communication, to a wide and varied stakeholder group, is critical to the successful build-out of BAE Systems India. Our strategic objective is to become an integral part of the India's domestic defence and security industry and I am confident that Indu's depth of communications experience from a range of sectors, including financial services, advertising and IT, will make a significant contribution."
India is one of BAE Systems' five home markets, along with Australia, Saudi Arabia, the United States and the United Kingdom.
The company firmly supports the Government of India's objective of procuring 70 percent of defence equipment domestically.
