BIG FM launches new show 'BIG STAR from every Zamaana'

Everyone on the face of this earth thinks that some people have just the right jobs ' jobs that you'd kill to have. And this time, I think two people have got it spot on ' a job that I'd love to do. RJ Rani and Ketan are going to be presenting a radio show called "BIG STAR from every Zamaana'. I like to read about the lives of people who've made it big in their own right. It is not just good reading about it, it is an inspiration. It is an experience.

Sampooran Singh Kalra. Ever heard of him? Let me tell you more about him. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2004 and Sahitya Akademi Award in 2002. The most famous, globally, is perhaps an Academy Award (Oscar) that he took home for penning down the song Jai Ho for Slumdog Millionaire. Yes ladies and gents, we're talking of no less than Gulzar. Born on August 18, 1936, Gulzar has come a long way and has his contribution to the film industry cannot be compared. He is a film director, lyricist, screenplay writer, film producer and a poet. And though you'd think that at 74, he isn't quite cut out for the film industry of today, think again. He is the main man behind the chartbuster hits from Omkara, Kaminey and, most recently, Ishqiya and Raavan.

And this is only one personality I am talking about. Imagine how many more such brilliant examples we have out there whom we don't know about, but must. Aamir Khan and how he got the "perfectionist' tag attached to him. Akshay Kumar and his journey of enjoying immense success after changing his name from Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia. There are just innumerable celebrities and countless things that you don't know. Makes for a good thing to make a show on, then.

Listeners are regaled with grapevine from movie sets to recording studios to vanity vans. To add to the romantic trivia are the songs from that very generation. personally selected by the RJ's, the songs enthral and tell a story that defines the struggles, challenges, triumphs and endeavours of the Bollywood stars in discussion.
