Boardroom blues banished by bowling tourney

Some, therefore, indulge in competition to find out who's the best ” a die-hard corporate syndrome. This led to the creation of "Lufthansa Pin Strike ' II" country's biggest corporate bowling tournament, played at the PVR bluO bowling center, a complete entertainment zone located at the Ambience Mall in Gurgaon.

The PVR-BluO "Lufthansa Pin Strike ' II" competition ended on a brilliant strike recently with Team S. Oliver winning four return tickets to Europe. This is the second time that the biggest corporate bowling tournament was arranged where competing bowlers including professionals from leading corporate houses and MNCs participated, making the excitement strikingly high.

Among the top 20 teams which had qualified for the finals, team Communication Arts and team Manish Buildwell were the first and the second runner's up respectively in the Lufthansa corporate bowling tournament in Delhi. Against last year's 50 teams' participation, this time 80 teams from different corporate houses participated in the tournament, raising the tournament's popularity quotient very high. Besides the full quota of entertainment, each team member also received a kit bag full of goodies, apart from the bowling equipment ” shoes, bowling balls et al ” being provided to play the minimum of 8 games. Could they have asked for better entertainment?

Big names in corporate houses including Agilent, Bacardi, Matrix, Make My Trip, Airtel, American Centre, Pepsi, Ariba, American Embassy fought each Thursday night for five weeks for the prize. Players also got valuable tips from National Ten Pin Bowling Champion (2009, 2004 & 1999), Mr HV Sharda, about the beauty of the game.

With the huge participation this year, the organizers are encouraged to aim for a much bigger third edition next year, claimed Mr Gautam Dutta, CEO, bluO. "The second edition of the Lufthansa Pin Strike Corporate Bowling Tournament was a huge success," he added.
