Budget 2021 needs to give a boost to consumer sentiment: Anand Bhadkamkar
Dentsu India started 2021 by merging all its commerce capabilities under its Total Commerce offering. ‘Total Commerce’ unites all of the conglomerate’s commerce capabilities under a single umbrella, encapsulating every aspect of e-commerce, last-mile delivery as well as retail radius communication.
Speaking on the expectation from the Union Budget 2021, Anand Bhadkamkar, CEO - India, dentsu, acknowledged the fact that 2020 had been a difficult year for businesses across the spectrum, and added, “What, therefore, is required from the Budget is a boost to the consumer sentiment.”
He further said, “We definitely want tax rates to not go up further. Additionally, it will be great if the businesses start getting some incentives for advertising and CSR activities. As an industry, we had appealed at the beginning of the pandemic, too, to give us some relief to businesses on allowability of advertising spends as advertising eventually helps to boost the economy.”
On a larger perspective, Bhadkamkar said, there should be additional support for MSMEs and startups in the Budget, which is the backbone of the Indian economy.
