Celesti Bairagey on Karate Girls: “It’s More Than Martial Arts”

Amazon MX Player, Amazon’s free video streaming platform, has introduced an engaging coming-of-age drama, Karate Girls. The series dives into the lives of Abha and Komal, two vastly different girls brought together by a shared journey in the demanding world of karate. Featuring an impressive cast including Ashlesha Thakur, Celesti Bairagey, Manav Gohil, and Meiyang Chang, the series has captivated audiences with its mix of heartfelt moments, unexpected plot twists, and powerful storytelling. Celesti Bairagey, who portrays Abha Kadam, sheds light on what sets the series apart. “You’ve probably seen many shows and films based on karate or martial arts, but what makes this one special is how deeply karate is woven into the story. Reflecting on her decision to join the project, Celesti shares, “The first thing that made me say yes to the series is the title—Karate Girls. I knew I’d get to play one of the girls and have the opportunity to learn karate, which piqued my interest. As a child, I always wanted to learn boxing, but my father was against it. He worried about injuries, like getting punched hard enough to almost break your nose. But through Abha, I got the chance to train in karate, and I couldn’t have been more excited.”
