CHENNAI LIVE to Premiere TED RADIO HOUR Series

Chennai Live 104.8FM is pleased to announce that we are collaborating with TED, the organization behind the prestigious and widely popular TED Talks. From April 1st 2013, we will begin to air TED Radio Hour, a special series curated for NPR (National Public Radio) in the USA, and now brought to Indian listeners for the first time.

Chennai Live 104.8FM will be the first station in India to broadcast TED Radio Hour.

Chennai Live 104.8FM will air a new episode every Monday (8a.m. – 9a.m.) and a repeat on Wednesdays (11a.m. to 12p.m.) This schedule will run throughout the year with a new episode presented every week. A highlight of this segment is that no music or ads will be played, only a continuous, brilliant set of talks lasting 52 minutes that are curated within unifying themes such as“The Future of Cities,”“Building a Better Classroom,” and “Do We Need Humans?”

TED Radio Hour offers listeners a rare opportunity to go beyond traditional news and explore the world of ideas: astonishing inventions, fresh approaches to old problems, new ways to teach and learn.

Each episode of TED Radio Hour helps audiences see the world in a different way. The creative production and unique voice of the series feeds curiosity, evokes wonder, questions assumptions and leaves the listener a little smarter – if not also changed, charged and challenged.

TED Radio Hour presents some of the most engaging, enlightening TED Talks in a radio format. American audiences have embraced the show, and it is NPR’s fastest-growing new series. Apple’s iTunes also named the series a “Best of 2012” podcast. The first season contained 10 episodes, and the second season, now in production, will contain 30 episodes. Some of the programs in Season 1 include “Fixing Our Broken Systems”, “Food Matters”, “The Pursuit of Happiness”, and “The Power of Crowds”.
