Chrome Extensions challenge Firefox

Are Google's Chrome browser extensions a threat to those of FireFox? Apparently, yes, despite the fact that Google and Firefox are united against Microsoft,, that they both believe that the web is the future and that Google accounts for most of Mozilla's revenue.

Firefox's myriad extensions- it's plus point that keeps clientele coming back despite the bloat on the browser- is soon to be challenged by a plethora of browsers from Chrome, which are not only quicker to assemble and upload- at Googleplex, Mountain View recently two Google engineers created a usable extension in five minutes- followed by third party developers endorsing the ease with which Chrome extensions can be built due to the fact that Chrome uses simple web language while Firefox relies on more elaborate processes- the time for submitting extensions to the FireFox approval process is considerably longer; submitted Chrome extensions go live instantaneously in the Extensions setting unless they use native codes or access file ssytems, wherein the developer merely has to sign a consent to the pure, non-malicious intent of his extension to Google.

This greatly enables Google a larger following in the extension development community while Firefox practices are not dissimilar to the Apple Apps store review process.

James Joaquin, CEO X--Marks, which manufactured one of Firefox's most popular extensions and has just launched a Chrome extension, endorses this view. Michael Gaieper, founder, Aviary's founder and maker of another Chrome extension- extols its auto update which circumvents reluctance of the user to update extensions, a major hindrance to developers, and enables Google to kill viral extensions with the'kill "switch."

Further, for installing and updating the Chrome, no restart is necessary, unlike with Firefox.

Lastly, Google technology "Isolated Words" enables it to keep the script used on the web page separate from extension scripts, important for security.
