Critics Choice Awards 2012 to be aired live on Zee Studio

The 17th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards will be showcased live and exclusive from the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Zee Studio at 6:30 AM in India.

The Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards, commonly called the Critics' Choice Awards, are bestowed annually by the Broadcast Film Critics Association to honor the finest in cinematic achievement. Nominees are selected by written ballots in a week-long voting period, and were announced in December. The winners would be revealed at the annual Critics' Choice Awards ceremony on 13th January. However, the opinions that pull the most weight are from the 200 film critics that make up the Broadcast Film Critics Association, the largest film critics organization in the U.S. and Canada.

The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) has announced that actor/comedians Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer will host the 17th annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.  Fitz and The Tantrums will also participate in the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, taking the stage as the evening’s house band, performing between awards and commercials. 

Sean Penn has won another award for his charity work rather than his acting, as the Broadcast Film Critics Association announced that Penn will receive the 2012 Joel Siegel Award at the 17th Annual Critics Choice Movie Awards. Sean Penn has been chosen to receive the Joel Siegel Award at the 17th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards, with Oscar winner George Clooney (and 13 time Critics' Choice Award nominee) tapped to present the award. Previous winners of the Joel Siegel Award include Matt Damon, Kevin Bacon, Richard Gere, and Don Cheadle. The Joel Siegel Award honors the memory of the Good Morning America critic who lost his battle to cancer in 2007. It's awarded each year in recognition of a celebrity who uses their fame to do good work for others.

Since its inception in 1995, the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards has been a star-studded bellwether event of the movie awards season. Historically, the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards are the most accurate predictor of the Academy Award nominations.

The 17th annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards will be honoring the finest in cinematic achievement among 2011 film releases, to catch all this action live, tune into  Zee Studio on 13th January at 6:30 AM.
