DD FreeDish MPEG 2 e-auction fetches Rs 1,157 cr, up from Rs 1,073 cr last year

With all rounds of the e-auctions for the MPEG 2 slots of DD FreeDish concluding, the broadcaster has seen an increase in its earnings from the auction.

This year, Prasar Bharti invited applications from private television broadcasters for the 75th online e-auction for the MPEG-2 TV slots of DD FreeDish. These slots are being allotted for the period April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025.

In 2024, a total of 64 slots were auctioned, which fetched Rs 1,157 crore. This is an increase from Rs 1,073 crore from the auction of 65 slots last year.

On the final day of the e-auctions yesterday, February 26, 2024, five slots were snapped up or an amount of Rs 77.8 crore:

B4U Kadak - Rs 16.3 crore

9XM - Rs 16.3 crore

India Daily Live - Rs 16.45 crore

B4U Bhojpuri - Rs 15 crore

Fakht Marathi - Rs 13.75 crore
