Deceitful Love: A steamy age-gap romance unravels amid suspicion and secrets
A six episode Netflix series released earlier this month; Deceitful Love (Inganno in Italian) explores an age-gap love between a sixty year old wealthy lady Gabriella (Monica Guerritore) and the mysterious thirty years dude Elia (Giacomo Gianniotti). Both get instantly attracted to each other, have loads of sex and then want to take their relationship to the next level.
Expectedly, Gabriella's family suspects Elia to be a gold digger eyeing her luxurious hotel and fat bank account. His shady past is also a matter of concern. So, is Elia genuinely in love with Gabriella and more importantly, will their relationship sustain for long?

To be fair, Monica and Giacomo are convincing in the lead roles and manage to conjure a sizzling hot onscreen chemistry. But it's the implausible screenplay, which fails them. How can Gabriella keep ignoring Elia's past is something you aren't able to digest beyond a point. At one point, Elia's own mother warns Gabriella about him, yet she sorts it out with him oh so quick and pronto over sex.
Apart from the aesthetically executed love making scenes, there is little to appreciate in the web series. The final episode culminates in a courtroom drama with ample emotions and tears on display. Sadly, it doesn't register the desired impact. Yawn!!
