Deepika Padukone: Empowering films, business & mental health
Deepika Padukone, the multi-talented Indian actress and entrepreneur, recently reflected on her remarkable journey in cinema and beyond. With an undeniable presence in Bollywood and an expanding global footprint, Padukone continues to break barriers, cementing her status as a powerhouse in entertainment and business. Her diverse accomplishments are a testament to her passion, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
In a candid conversation, she shared the qualities that have been instrumental in her success: “Discipline, dedication, determination, and patience,” she said. “Especially in today’s fast-paced world, where people seek instant gratification, I believe these values are more important than ever.”
Despite juggling multiple roles—actor, entrepreneur, and mental health advocate—Padukone remains deeply rooted in her first love: cinema. “The movies will always happen because they are what make all of this possible, so I’ll continue to nurture that,” she explained. “That’s what empowers me to do all of the other work that I do. I’ve been very lucky to be able to balance it all.”
Beyond her dominance at the box office and being a sought-after global brand ambassador, Padukone is also the founder of The Live Love Laugh Foundation (LLL), a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about mental health, reducing stigma, and increasing access to affordable care in India. This year marks the foundation’s 10th anniversary, now led by her sister, Anisha Padukone, a former member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council for Mental Health, as CEO.
Recently embracing motherhood, Padukone made a grand return by opening the 25th-anniversary show for Indian designer Sabyasachi and attending Cartier’s milestone celebration in Dubai. As always, her presence was deeply missed, reaffirming her unparalleled global influence.
