Del Monte launches 2 new sauces with real veg bits

Del Monte has introduced two sauce variants, Zingo and Twango, that pack the right spicy punch to make an impact in the chutney-laced culture of India. The new Del Monte offerings represent a significant product innovation in the category, which has been the site of standard fare for years.

Zingo, a frisson of sweet taste blended with a soupçon of spicy thrill, serves the essence of far-eastern cuisine and is made of red chilies, red bell pepper, garlic and ginger. With only 29 kcal per serving (20g) and containing a high degree of dietary fibre, Zingo is a delicious and spicy treat.

Twango, as the name suggests, is a tangy and fruity sauce that italicises the regular tomato-based sauces with a dash of uniqueness. It offers a never-before combination of juicy and tangy pineapple with sun-kissed ripe tomatoes. With only 30 kcal per serving (20g) and crammed with dietary fibre, Twango is a rich and light accompaniment to culinary delights.

Yogesh Bellani, the business head of Del Monte foods business, FieldFresh Foods, has been quoted as saying, "With Zingo and Twango, Del Monte adds yet another incredible line of products to its already popular ketchup category and its other highly successful ranges of fruit drinks, packaged fruits and Italian products. The USP of the sauces is that they contain fresh vegetable and fruit bits. We have delivered admirably on our brand promise of never-before taste and innovation with these sauces."
