DISCOVERY SCIENCE BRINGS WORLD'S TOUGHEST, BIGGEST AND MEANEST MACHINES IN HEAVY METAL TASK FORCE

Discovery Science brings a new series HEAVY METAL TASK FORCE that features the world’s most technologically advanced machines that take on the most incredible and dangerous engineering challenges. Discovery Science’s HEAVY METAL TASK FORCE drills deep underground, slashes through ice and covers miles of distance while exploring some of the world’s toughest, biggest and meanest machines.

‘HEAVY METAL TASK FORCE’ will premiere on Discovery Science every Friday at 10:30 pm starting from March 23, 2012.

Each episode of HEAVY METAL TASK FORCE features three different missions for the mechanical marvels and their crews. The visually stunning series takes a close look at the machines - their massive size and power, and resiliency of the machines and their operators as they together tackle various crises with speed and precision.

From the longest and strongest road-going vehicle in the world to the heavy-lift ship which transports one of the largest cargoes ever moved in one piece, HEAVY METAL TASK FORCE takes you on a journey with the most heavy-duty machines of the world.

Episode 1

The longest road-going vehicle in the world heads into dangerous territory to bring electricity to an isolated region, a tunneling behemoth dares to dig a new subway system under a bustling historic city and a sleek new vessel fights the war on narcotics.

Episode 2

The world's biggest wheeled loader digs a copper mine out of peril, an assault transport carries troops across any terrain and when it runs out of land it goes straight into the water, and the largest mining machine keeps a country running.

Episode 3

The world's most powerful backhoe dredger digs up New York Harbor to clear the way for bigger cargo ships, a revolutionary new fire truck protects an international airport, and a mobile factory rushes against the clock to rebuild a railroad.

Episode 4

A world-class dredger has 4-hours to cut through hard volcanic rock to avoid a multi-million dollar traffic jam, a demolition rig wreaks destruction until threatened by a force stronger than itself, and a battle-proven chopper is put to the test.

Episode 5

The premier heavy-lift ship transports one of the largest cargoes ever moved in one piece, custom-built transporters fight earth's driest desert to deliver a 100-ton telescope, and an army of walking digger’s repairs massive damage before winter's snow.
