Disney to unveil its metaverse platform Starverse

Disney is getting ready to introduce its metaverse platform Starverse in India. After months of testing, the application has reportedly been prepared for release, according to a senior Disney executive.
Starverse will debut around the IPL in 2023. The platform was designed by Disney with the intention of improving sports fans' viewing experiences. Sports fans will be able to experience 3D immersion with the help of Starverse.
Users will be able to enter the Starverse at scale for the first time, said Sanjog Gupta, Head of Sports, Star & Disney India.
The mobile web can be used to access Starverse rather than a mobile application, which would limit access to those who have downloaded the app, according to Gupta.
The Disney executive also said that the platform will be a "always-on" experience for users, with new features that will be added to Starverse throughout the year.
Reportedly, Disney has collaborated with multiple agencies to design the tech backend, 3D models and environment and gamification part of Starverse.
