DNEG Group raises $200 million from Abu Dhabi-based United Al Saqer Group

The DNEG Group, a London-headquartered visual entertainment technology and services provider, announced a strategic investment of $200 million from United Al Saqer Group (UASG), bringing the Group's total enterprise valuation to over $2 billion.
This infusion of capital will support the expansion of Prime Focus Studios, enabling greater content production capabilities. The funds will also bolster Brahma, DNEG’s cutting-edge AI-powered CGI creator, which promises to revolutionize photo-real content creation.
The investment will also facilitate the establishment of a visual experience hub in Abu Dhabi, aimed at creating numerous job opportunities and positioning the region as a significant player in the global content production and technology sectors.
Key Highlights:
• Expansion and Innovation: The investment will enable DNEG Group to expand its technology division, Brahma, which is developing an advanced AI-powered CGI creator. Brahma aims to democratize photo-real content creation using over 25 years of proprietary data and recent acquisitions like Ziva from Unity.
• Content Production: Prime Focus Studios, the content creation arm of DNEG, will increase its investment in high-quality content production. The studio recently co-produced "The Garfield Movie" and plans to invest further in live-action, animation, and gaming projects.
• New Hub in Abu Dhabi: DNEG will open a new office and visual experience hub in Abu Dhabi, developing a world-class ecosystem for content production, storage, and distribution. This initiative will support the creation of highly skilled jobs and enhance the region's position as a creative powerhouse.

Leadership and Strategic Goals:
Namit Malhotra, DNEG Chairman and CEO, will continue in his current role. He will be joined by Nabil Kobeissi and Edouard Zard from UASG, and Prabhu Narasimhan from NaMa Capital, who will become Executive Chairman of Brahma.
