DoT secretary gets additional charge assignment

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, along with the Department of Personnel and Training, has approved an additional charge assignment for the post of Secretary, Department of Telecommunications.

The competent authority has granted the responsibility of the Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, to Apurva Chandra, an IAS from the 1988 Maharashtra cadre. This decision comes upon the relinquishing of the post by K Rajaraman, a seasoned IAS officer from the 1989 Tamil Nadu cadre, on July 31, 2023.

Apurva Chandra, currently serving as the Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, has been entrusted with the additional charge. This arrangement is to be effective immediately and will continue until the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders are issued, whichever comes earlier.
