Emami plans for Rs 5000 crore turnover by 2014

Kolkata-based fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) major Emami Ltd riding on portfolio expansion said the company expects to touch Rs.5, 000 crore (Rs.50 billion) turnover in the next 5years.

To this plan, the chairman, Emami Ltd, R.S. Agarwal said, "We will make it Rs.5, 000 crore in 5 years. In the current fiscal, we will touch Rs.1, 000 crore. We had acquired majority stake in Zandu Pharmaceutical in 2008, and expect to grow 20-25 per cent every year."

Talking about the growth drivers, Agarwal said, "Thrust will be given to the Ayurvedic division of the company and it may also look at launching a new product line in that section, developing separate brand and brand extension. We are coming out in a big way in the ayurvedic division. We will also give more focus on herbal cosmetic and toiletries."
