Retailers across categories are expanding product offerings, adding new features like cash on delivery, flexible exchange policies, free shipping and experimenting with social media. It’s getting harder to tell pure play Internet retailers from the bricks and mortar shops with online portals, and all of them are reinventing how we’ll shop online in the future.

Both have their charm but online is the new thing which has have become a preferred medium due to hectic lifestyles. About the benefits to its customers Singh had to say “The new e-commerce website visitor will experience a new look, strong photography components and ease of navigation to support the brand visually. The site comprises of advanced online merchandising, ordering and processing.

Added features like Cash on Delivery, Credit/ Debit Cards, Internet Banking, Cash Card, Mobile Payments, Free shipment would allow hassle free shopping to the consumers. The Woodland e-commerce experience will also help us reduce the carbon footprint and is a natural extension of our existing business broadening our access of the brand. We see the introduction of this channel as another important way to connect with our customers and provide them with access like never before. Woodland will also be bringing out lot of limited edition products, exclusively for online buyers.

As for the future of such a concept in India, Singh had to say “ India has been witnessing an exponential growth in the overall number of netizens. This is just the beginning and it is here to stay. We are expecting to add close to INR 2O Crore to our total revenue through this channel.

Taking us through the entire transaction process for customer, Singh explained “placing an order to it being delivered to him. How robust is your entire logistics process. Woodland believes in making sure that the customer never gets a chance to fret. Therefore Woodland follows a robust procedure for the e – transactions. When a customer logs on to www.woodlandworldwide.com and selects the desired product from the color, size and quantity, the products are be added to a shopping cart. Post the order selection, one has to undergo the checkout procedure where the customer has to register on the website and fill up the shipping address and choose the mode of payment. Once the Woodland team receives the Order i.e., after the successful transaction, the first step is to procure the product from the warehouse & start its Shipping. Normally, it takes 3-5 working days to get it delivered but it even depends on the serviceability of the logistics partner on the desired pin code.“

And revealing an incentive he said “Woodland will also be bringing out lot of limited edition products, exclusively for online buyers.  Though the catalogue is limited, but shortly it will be updated on regular basis. The offerings will be supported by liberal return policies, varied product selection and customer reviews and last but not the least the convenience of shopping.
