Extend validity of circulation verification certificate till Mar 31'22: INS
The Indian Newspaper Society (INS) has written to the I&B Minister Anurag Singh Thakur, seeking further extension of validity of circulation verification certificate by the Registrar of Newspapers for India (RNI) till at least March 31, 2022. This validity was earlier allowed extension till July 31, 2021.
In its letter to the Minister, the INS stated that Due to circumstances arising out of COVID-19 and subsequent lockdowns, the work of circulation verifications was kept pending or kept on hold and the RNI was obliged to extend from time to time the validity of all circulation certificates that had expired on December 31, 2019 until July31, 2021.

INS further stated that the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) had also extended the validity of ABC certificate for the period July-December 2019 till such time another ABC certificate is issued to the publishers.
