Facebook leads Web Publishers with 34% share of digital ad impressions in H1 2024
Digital Medium witnessed 8% spike in ad impressions in Jan-Jun’24 compared to Jan-Jun’22. Additionally, the period from Jan-Jun’24 saw a notable 3% increase compared to the same period in 2023, as per TAM Media’s half yearly (January-June 2024) report on Digital Advertising.
Services sector retained its top position with 51% share of the ad impressions during Jan-Jun’24 compared to Jan-Jun’23. Ranking of 4 out of Top 10 sectors improved during Jan-Jun’24 over Jan-Jun’23 on Digital. Telecom Products, Personal Products and Corporate/ Brand Image were the 3 new entrants in the Top 10 list of Sectors.
Ecom-Other Services ascended to the 1st position with 7% share of digital ad impressions during Jan-Jun’24 compared to Jan-Jun’23. Cellular Phones-Smart Phones and Cars were the new entrants in the Top 10 Categories during Jan-Jun’24 compared to Jan-Jun’23. First 6 Categories out of the Top 10 were from the Services sector. The Top 10 categories together accounted for 47% share of the Digital ad impressions.
There were 98.6k+ exclusive advertisers present in Digital and 1,850+ common advertisers between TV and Digital Mediums during Jan-Jun’24. Grammarly Inc was the leading Exclusive Advertiser among Digital and TV medium during Jan-Jun’24.
Over 230+ Categories registered positive growth. Based on difference in ad impression, Ecom-Other Services Category witnessed growth by 2.1x during Jan-Jun’24 compared Jan-Jun’23. In terms of growth %, Retail Outlets-Home/ Interiors/ Furniture category witnessed highest % growth among the Top 10, that is, 3.4x, followed by Corporate-Auto category with 3.3x growth.
Facebook led the list of Web Publishers with 34% share of the ad impressions during Jan-Jun’24. YouTube led as Web Publication and Application in terms of ad impressions. YouTube and Cricbuzz Cricket Scores & News led the list of Top 10 Apps in Jan-Jun’24. During Jan-Jun’24, YouTube alone had 38% share of the ad impressions among Apps.
Display was the leading Digital Platform with 78% share of the ad impressions during Jan-Jun’24. In Transaction Methods, Programmatic ascended to the 1st position as the most popular method for promoting Ads on Digital platforms, accounting for 88% of the total ad impressions, followed by Programmatic/ Ad Network method with 4% share in Jan-Jun’24.
