Flipkart's Binny Bansal ventures into franchising tech with Opptra

Binny Bansal, a name synonymous with India's e-commerce revolution through his co-founding of Flipkart, has unveiled his latest venture: Opptra, a tech-driven startup focused on empowering brands through franchising in Asian markets.

Opptra aims to bridge the gap for companies looking to expand their footprint in the dynamic Asian landscape, particularly within the fashion, lifestyle, and home and kitchen sectors. The startup will leverage technology to streamline and optimize franchising operations, offering brands a robust platform to build and scale their presence.

To spearhead the company's electronics and general merchandise division, Bansal has recruited Ranjit Babu, a seasoned leader with prior experience at Amazon India and as the former CEO of Cloudtail.

Further strengthening the leadership team, Giridhar Yasa, formerly the Chief Technology Officer of Lendingkart, will assume the role of Chief Product and Technology Officer, driving the technological backbone of Opptra. Anand Raj, who previously held a Vice President position at Swiggy, will lead the company's global supply chain efforts.

Opptra's launch signals Bansal's continued commitment to innovation and his focus on addressing market needs through technology-driven solutions. The startup's focus on franchising in Asia positions it to capitalize on the region's burgeoning consumer market and the growing demand for brand expansion.
