PT. Intrasari Raya, a leading household care company in Indonesia manufacturing and distributing a wide range of household products including household insecticides, wet tissues and air freshener has been acquired by Godrej, an Indian conglomerate which commands a strong market presence in Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh & Indonesia besides home country India. Godrej will benefit from the acquisition of this Indonesian group by getting a strong platform to establish itself a major player in that country. The firm believes this acquisition will provide significant synergies and create value for shareholders as it will give the company a solid footing in the third largest consumer market in Asia.

Welcoming the Megasari Group, one of the largest Household Insecticides & Aircare companies, to the Godrej Group, A. Mahendran, Director, FMCG Portfolio Cell for the Godrej Group said that the foreign team fits in very well with Godrej's entrepreneurial culture and aspiration to become a global powerhouse in household insecticides. Commenting that the mega Indian company hopes to create a new platform for Godrej in Indonesia, a country with a population of 240 million, through the Megasari team, Mahendran said that post acquisition Godrej hopes to take the company to the next level. Keeping a sharp focus on strong acquisitions that will prove to be strong partners with their business for Godrej, the company has developed a strong process to manage and integrate the many acquisitions that the company has so far registered.

With almost a decade and half of FMCG experience, Naveen Gupta, who has spent 8 years in Godrej Sara Lee's International Operations alone, will lead Godrej's cross-functional team in the new set up. Apart from spearheading the diligence and negotiations for this transaction, Naveen will also manage the integration besides enhancing business value for Godrej in Indonesia.
