In an environment, which has typically been dominated by men worldwide, these women have broken stereotypes and glass ceilings and led their organizations during turbulent times and have emerged stronger. The Golden Girls captures how they have maintained their homes, families and personal interest amidst pressures of being the best.

Grihshobha commissioned the seasoned writer, Sudha Menon, most recently the author of ‘Leading Ladies- Women Who Inspire India’, to engage each of these icons in freewheeling conversations where they talk about the lesser known aspects of their personal lives on their road to business success. We learn about their childhood, their upbringing, their families, how they spend their weekends, how they plan their holidays, what is their grocery list, their favourite pastime and a lot more. The informal narrative style of writing is supported with images that give glimpses of their personal sides.

“For the first time perhaps, an Indian women’s magazine is reaching out to the top 15 business women of the country for freewheeling conversations about their lives, their childhood, their families, and their personal journeys en-route to their corporate success. We get to know their other side, away from their corporate personas,” elaborates Anant Nath, Director, Delhi Press Group.
This is the second edition of the Golden Girls Grand Annual. In May 2011 the magazine had brought together 15 of India’s finest women athletes who had gained recognition on the podiums of world sports. They came together for the first time ever in a stunning cover photo shoot donning dresses of designers like Ritu Beri, Rohit Bal and others. Jasmer Singh, one of the most well known fashion photographers of India, Vikram Seth, the acclaimed stylist, along with others contributed to a makeover that showcased their stories with a look and feel that changed India’s perceptions towards Indian female athletes.

Grihshobha is the largest read women’s magazine in India, with more than 7 million readers and a pan India reach across eight languages- Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Talegu, Tamil, Malayalam and Bangla.

“It has progressed with time to evolve its editorial perspective while retaining its DNA – balance between tradition and modernity, reinforcing the woman’s belief in herself, her rights and her respectful place in society by making her more aware in her milieu. The magazine’s physical avatar too has undergone timely improvements and delivers world class design and production quality,” says Anant Nath, Director, Delhi Press Group.

Amyt Bhatia, Director – Advertising Sales & Marketing, adds that, “Grihshobha enjoys a premium position in the minds of our readers as well as our advertisers and we need to constantly reinvent ourselves.

Grihshobha Golden Girls is a co-created property and all our advertisers have supported this cause to the hilt. It is our ode to the inherent strength of Indian women and a mark of our continued commitment to building a better reader experience which is far more engaging”.

“Grihshobha’s repertoire of content makes every issue a refreshing read. Not just the range of topics covered but also the treatment and research that goes behind the viewpoints offered - stays unmatched. Despite it being among the higher priced amidst its competition readers choose Grihshobha more frequently,” concludes Anant Nath, Director, Delhi Press Group.
