GroupM Executive Matt Sweeney steps down after Decade-Long Tenure

Matt Sweeney has stepped down from his role at GroupM, marking the end of a decade-long career with the company, according to media reports. Sweeney, who joined GroupM in 2014, played a pivotal role in the company’s growth, first as senior vice president at the programmatic trading desk Xaxis, before being promoted to CEO of Xaxis. Later, he served as the Chief Investment Officer for the U.S. market.

His departure comes three months after Brian Lesser took over as the global CEO of GroupM, succeeding Christian Juhl. Under Lesser's leadership, GroupM is focusing on simplifying its business model, enhancing collaboration, and advancing its technological capabilities.

The reasons behind Sweeney’s decision to leave remain unclear, but it is a significant change for the company as it adapts to the evolving demands of the media industry.
