HT Media's revenue surges

One of the leading media organisations in India, Hindustan Times Media Ltd has swung to profit.

The company on a consolidated basis in the three months ended December from a year ago loss.

According to the reports, the company benefited from increased circulation and advertising revenue and lower newsprint costs. the net income rose to Rs 35.8 crore in the quarter, from a loss of Rs 12.8 crore in the yearago period.

Consolidated revenue surged 6% to Rs 366.1 crore from Rs 345.7 crore a year ago. Reports say that the company claims that 30% increase in circulation revenue to Rs 50.8 crore, a 3% rise in advertising revenue to Rs 285.5 crore, reduction in the losses of its Internet and radio operations and lower newsprint prices boosted revenue and profit.
