Hyundai IONIQ 5 sets Guinness record for greatest altitude change by EV

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) announces that its flagship electric SUV, the Hyundai IONIQ 5, has set a new milestone by achieving the prestigious GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the Greatest Altitude Change by an Electric Car.
Driven by a professional team from Evo India, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 completed a remarkable feat by registering an altitude change of 5802 meters. The journey began at India’s highest drivable point, Umling La in Leh Ladakh, situated 5799 meters (19,024 feet) above sea level, and ended at Kuttanad in Kerala, which lies 3 meters below sea level.

This extraordinary record was set in just 14 days, with the vehicle covering over 4900 kilometers of challenging terrain and extreme weather conditions, proving the Hyundai IONIQ 5's resilience, advanced technology, and superior performance. From freezing temperatures in the Himalayas to humid coastal regions in Kerala, the IONIQ 5 seamlessly navigated diverse and extreme environments, solidifying its position as a benchmark in electric mobility.
