I am not trying to ape anyone: NIranjan Iyengar

The second season of Look Who’s Talking with Niranjan on Zee Cafe has gone on air. The show which is airing at 9 PM has already garnered rave reviews from all quarters. Niranjan, who is not a K Jo but brings within his own charm and makes his way not only in the hearts of the celebrities he interviews but also in the hearts of the viewers. The first season was a success and hence the channel has looked forward at launching the show with a new set of celebrities.

Speaking about the celebrity mix this season, he says, “Last season has been a mix of young brigade as well as the seasoned actors and this season is going to be the same. A lot of young celebrities have been interviewed like Sonakshi, Shraddha, Varun and Anushka.

He states that there have been no criteria for deciding who will make an appearance on the show. He further states, “The show began with me calling all the people I know and have worked with. These are people who I know socially or have worked with.”

e also says that they usually let the conversation take its own turn without having a script to run by with. Having worked with the celebrities has also had its advantage. He elaborates, “I know these people personally and I have worked here so there is pretty little that I don’t know of. But except that, we have Sukanya Venkat who helps me with the research on all the celebrities.”

With many other celebrity chat shows in the same space, he says that he is not trying to ape anyone but the show will have his trademark. He says that, “The idea behind the show was to catch up with the stars and through it the audiences, who are getting to know them better which is good enough for me. Every chat show is different because it is defined by the personality of the chat show host. Everyone is different and automatically it makes every show different.”

Talking about his association with Zee Café, he says, “It has been great. First season was like two people getting to know each other so there might have been times when I might have got on to their nerves but this season we are more like friends.”

While they have come to an end of the shooting, this season viewers can expect more fun segments with the celebrities. Speaking about which has been his favorite episode so far, he says, “I really don’t know about the favorites because we sit and chat and I don’t sit with an opinion about what I like the most or what I don’t.”
