Imagine launches two new fiction shows

Imagine TV is launching two new shows. Sagar Arts' Dwarkadheesh: Bhagwan Shri Krishn and Creative Eye's Sawaare Sabke Sapne - Preeto will be telecast on the channnel from the 4th of July at the 8 - 9 PM slot.

Much has been showcased about the life of Lord Krishna like his birth, his charmingly mischievous childhood, the slaying of the demons, the love story with Radh but there is still a lot more that needs to be told.

Dwarkadheesh: Bhagwan Shri Krishn will include some of the lesser known aspects of Lord Krishna's vibrant personality. It will portray stories of Krishna as the:

The warrior who defeated Jarasandh 16 times, stories of Krishna

The valiant lover who whisked away Rukmani from her Swayamvar,

The dependable brother who got his sister married to Arjun,

The savior who rescued 16000 enslaved women from the clutches of evil Jarasandh,

The master strategist who guided Arjun on the path of victory.

On the other hand, "Sawaare Sabke Sapne ' Preeto' is a story of the Sodi family, set against the backdrop of Punjab. At the head of the family is a retired school master Gangandeep Sodi who lives with his wife Kanwal, and have not one or two but five charming grown-up daughters. The eldest daughter is Meeta, followed by Ishmeet, Manpreet fondly known as Preeto, Bani and the youngest being Sonu. With the father struggling to make ends meet and with no son in the family to depend on, the show traces the journey of Preeto, the third daughter who shoulders the responsibilities like the son of the family.

She is the sole bread winner of the family who happily sacrifices her dreams and aspirations to fulfil every need of her family. From looking after her parents, to taking charge of her elder sisters' marriage to the younger one's studies; Preeto is the veritable son of the house who does not see these responsibilities as a burden upon herself.

Saurabh Tewary, Head of Programing ' Fiction, Imagine TV, tells Adgully, "The first show though a mythological one we will be giving it a slightly historical touch to it. On the other Preeto will be a nice feel good family entertainer."

Tewary says Dwarkadheesh: Bhagwan Shri Krishn will be looking at targeting audiences across age groups. Whereas, Preeto will be slightly female centric show and target female audiences in the age group of 25+.

Dwarkadheesh: Bhagwan Shri Krishn will be promoted across a 360 campaign. While the channel feels that the show will be a good lead out and by default Preeto will get a good viewership. | By Prabha Hegde [prabha(at)adgully.com]
