India Bags five Pencils @ The One Show Design Awards 2012
The One Club has announced the winners for One Show Design Awards 2012. It was a proud moment for India who won five awards at this prestigious function. The five awards include two Gold, one Silver and two Bronze Pencils. A total of 81 pencil winners were announced, representing 20 different countries.
TBWA/India has won a Gold Pencil for its entry ‘Elephant Combs’ for MKV Household Products under Branding – Logo Design category.
The second Gold Pencil was awarded to DDB Mudra for its entry titled ‘Iconic’ for Volkswagen under Collateral Design- Posters in the Single category.
“Out of the Box’ New Delhi won a Silver Pencil for its entry ‘UPDN’ for UPDN Broking-Logo. In the Bronze category Wieden +Kennedy won a Bronze Pencil for its entry titled ‘Onboard Food Packaging’ for Indigo Airlines under Package Design- Campaign category. It was another proud moment when one more bronze was announced for the entry by JWT ttitled ‘Lifestyle Baddie Bags’ for Lifestyle under the Collateral Design –P.O.P and In-Store –Campaign category.
The top honours at this years One Show Design Awards went to Service plan Gruppe from Munich, Germany for “The Solar Annual Report”. Created for client Austria Solar it was judged the Best-Of–Show winning piece.
‘The Solar Report’ is a document whose printed contents are invisible and are only visible under sunlight.
Pum Lefebure, Co-Founder and Creative Director at Design Army 2012 One Show Design Jury Chair said that he was thrilled to collaborate with ten other top global talents. He appreciated the fact that each came with their own professional creative experience and unique perspective to the judge’s table. “While we viewed and discussed thousands of amazing pieces, we all came together in the end with a singular view of the best – the printed piece ‘The Solar Annual Report’ for Austria Solar, “ Mr.Lefebure said.
There were a total of 3,400 entries from 40 countries who participated in this year’s One Show Design Awards.
This year Germany won fifteen, the maximum awards amongst all the participating countries. They won four Gold, seven Silver, and four Bronze.
The U.S. followed with ten of which two are Gold, three Silver and five Bronze. On par with the U.S. was Brazil who too won ten awards. They won twoGold, one Silver and seven Bronze.
Top creatives and designers from across the globe joined The One Club on 7th May 2012 to celebrate the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Pencil winners which was held at Frank Gehry- designed IAC Building in New York city.
