Indian Idol coming soon on Sony

India's biggest talent show ' Indian Idol ' is returning with its fifth season. The most popular singing talent hunt on television continues to capture the imagination of the nation, once again embarking on its search for a new voice that will touch the heart of a billion Indians. The first episode of "Indian Idol 5' premieres on television on April 26th, Monday to Thursday at 09:00 pm exclusively on Sony Entertainment Television.

With over 1lac people participating in 11 city auditions, Indian Idol 5 is going to be the biggest search ever to give India its Best Singer. Anchored by Abhijeet Sawant, winner of Indian Idol 1 and Prajakta Shukre, one of the top 5 of Indian Idol 1 ' this fresh pairing is going to add charm to the Indian Idol 5 journey.

To ensure that India discovers its Best Singer, Indian Idol 5's judging panel has 3 of the biggest names in Music - Anu Malik, the music director par excellence and the celebrity judge who has rocked all seasons of Indian Idol so far, Salim Merchant, the versatile genius who has delivered numerous hits and the gorgeous and brilliant Sunidhi Chauhan, who came to prominence in a reality show and is today India's foremost female singer.

The greatest challenge before the young participants is to showcase their exceptional talent on the nation's largest singing platform. To ensure that every participant is trained to give their best, for the first time the Indian Idol participants will have mentors from the music world to back them. The journey throughout the auditions has been one of agony and ecstasy, tailor made for television - combining drama, reality, adventure, humor, thrill, glamour, and entertainment 'promising to become an integral part of the viewers' lives.
