IPL 2025 to be held from March 14 to May 25; BCCI also announces dates for 2026, 2027
The 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League will be played between March 14 and May 25. This was announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an important move much ahead of the tournament.
Not just 2025, BCCI has also announced the dates for the IPL editions of 2026 (March 15 to May 31) and 2026 (March 14 to May 30), thus firming the March-May period for the tournament.
The early announcement of dates will allow the franchise teams, the players as well as brands to plan better to lock in lucrative deals.
TATA IPL 2025 player auction list announced
Meanwhile, the highly anticipated TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) Player Auction List is out with a total of 574 players set to be featured in the Mega Auction, which will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25, 2024.
Out of the 574 players, 366 are Indian and 208 are overseas, including 3 players from associate nations. The Auction will include 318 Indian uncapped players and 12 uncapped overseas players. 204 slots will be up for grabs with 70 available slots for overseas players.
Rs 2 crore is the highest reserve price, with 81 players opting to be in the highest bracket.
The two-day Mega Auction will commence at 12:30 pm local time on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
