IPL shortlists cricketers for player auction

The third player auction is to be held on January 19 and the Indian Premier League has already shortlisted 51 international players.

The list has 7 players from Pakistan, 11 from Australia, nine from South Africa, eight from Sri Lanka and West Indies and an assortment of players from across Bangladesh, New Zealand and Zimbabwe. Holland and Canada have also sent their contenders for the first time.

As per the guidelines set by the governing council for the IPL 2010, each franchisee will have a fresh purse of $750,000 to select the cricketers.

IPL 2010 will start on March 12.
