IRS 2011 Q4: 7 out of 10 dailies reported growth

As per the (Indian Readership Survey) IRS 2011 Q4's top 10 dailies list, top five positions were bagged by Hindi publications, one by English, two by Malayalam, one by Marathi and one by Tamil. On comparing 2011 Q4 data with IRS 2011 Q3, Dainik Jagran leads the chart but reported decline in Average Issue Readership (AIR) from 16,458,000 to 16,410,000. Apart from it Dainik Bhaskar too has seen a decline in its AIR from 14,876,000 to 14,602,000, Hindustan, reported a slight rise from 12,033,000 to 12,045,000. Malayalam publications Malayala Manorama showed growth from with 9,912,000 to 9,937,000 whereas Mathrubhumi reported rise from 6,630,000 to 6,666,000. Daily Thanthi has also seen growth in AIR from 7,503,000 to 7,562,000, respectively. Amar Ujala and Times of India too have seen growth in this quarter Amar Ujala from 8,836,000 to 8,842,000 and Times of India from 7,467,000 to 7,616,000. Lokmat's AIR stood at 7,562,000 from 7,438, 000 while Rajasthan Patrika has seen a decline in its AIR at 6,847,000 from 6,918,000 in last quarter.
