JioStar Appoints Arup Bansal as Head of PRS and Brand Solutions

JioStar has named Arup Bansal as the new Head of PRS and Brand Solutions, a role that also includes overseeing the revenue strategy for the Sports LCS and SMB sectors. With more than 20 years of experience in media, marketing, and business leadership, Bansal is poised to play a pivotal role in steering Jiostar’s strategic initiatives in the ever-evolving, technology-driven market.

Bansal is a transformative leader with a strong history of scaling large organizations, combining strategic insight with hands-on operational expertise. He has held senior leadership positions at prominent firms such as Viacom18, Hotstar, Star TV Network, and GroupM, where he focused on revenue strategy, digital transformation, and brand solutions. One of his key contributions was at Hotstar, where he led revenue strategies across both sports and entertainment, optimizing brand performance measurement, customer marketing, and delivering ROI-focused solutions.

In addition to his work in India, Bansal served as the Country Managing Director at Wavemaker Vietnam, where he earned recognition as one of the Top 100 Businessmen of the Year in 2018 and was honored as the Southeast Asia Agency Head of the Year by Campaign Asia. His expertise spans a broad range of areas, including P&L management, go-to-market strategy, digital marketing, ad tech platforms, and establishing high-level relationships with key decision-makers.

Commenting on his appointment, Bansal shared his commitment to driving growth for Jiostar’s Sports and SMB divisions. “I am excited to leverage data-driven insights and foster a culture of innovation to fuel growth.
