Kiran Bedi to spread awareness about women rights

At the time when the entire country is discussing about whether the woman reservation bill should be passed or not; Zee News takes on a mission of educating the country and enlightening them about the power of women.

Dr. Kiran Bedi, a retired IPS officer, a social activist and an achiever in the true sense, joins hands with Zee News in its mission and meets the women icons in India like Sania Mirza, Uma Bharti, Chanda Kochchar, Sharmila Tagore, Saina Nehwal who have made a difference to their career and talks about the obstacles they have faced and challenges they have taken up to reach where they are today and become the role model of many.

Dr. Kiran Bedi will take up the avatar of a news reporter on Zee News where she will highlight the achievements of these women icons. She will argue that if a woman can successfully manage her career and home, then she can also take part in the political system of her country and work with her male counterparts towards the betterment of the nation

Through the platform of its new show `KIRAN AUR KIRNAE', Zee News will bring to its viewers the information from every facet of a women's life. Also, the channel will salute the women achievers and showcase their toil, the perspectives and reactions of those close to them- friends, relatives and family.

Kiran is a 13 episode series, the series will air on March 14, 2010 at 6.30pm on Zee News.
